GiroPets was a ground-breaking online Virtual Pet, browser based webgame aimed at the children / teen market. It pioneered many ideas and features that have been widely adopted by similarly themed webgames. Regrettably since the company's sale in July 2004, GiroPets has fallen into a state of disrepair and is no longer in development.

My work at GiroPets varied greatly, with the majority of my time being spent researching and programming new features, as well as performing Server Administration of our Dedicated Server. While not programming my role was of an Administrative nature, ensuring the site ran smoothly. I also spent time creating graphic and flash artwork for the site.

During my time at GiroPets, the site had 45,000+ registered members of which 17,000 were active, generating in excess of 1 million page views a month.
